I had Mrs Stone as a reading teacher at chango for a couple of years in early 80's . Wonderful teacher we always enjoyed going to her class except one day I knocked over her coffee all over her lesson planner binder and she was not happy with me. Well life goes on, reading became no problem for me, that year ended and she got a new lesson planner, and I lost track of her until I read her obituary. Thankyou Mrs Stone

Pat Stone was an old friend over the years who we held in high esteem. We first met her, through friends, when we were camping in Lake George where she worked at a summer job. That’s over 60 years ago. We have remained friends with Pat and Chet all of these years. After Chet passed away, she still joined the old friends for a monthly lunch gathering. Chet’s friends were her friends as well.
Other than her professional pursuits, Pat was devoted to her family and to the many acquaintances she made over time. She was always attentive to ones needs and was a great hostess. Pat was gracious, thoughtful, sharing and understanding.
While most of our husbands from our old friends group have passed away, those of us who remain will sadly miss Pat with her bright and cheery smile. It was a blessing for us to know her. I hope and pray she finds eternal rest in the knowledge that she did a job well done.

If you needed encouragement, a smile, and creative ideas on teaching, Pat Stone was the person who was always ready to offer her suggestions. And she did so in such a mild way, not with a demeanor of "expert," although she certainly was one. "Have you tried this?" she would begin. As a result, she influenced me in how I passed on her suggestions to my colleagues. When I retired, Pat continued her mission to improve education by working with staff and by teaching college students. How can we ever imagine her impact on thousands of students from the early days of writing only on the chalkboard to today when computers and technology provide immediate, creative ways of learning.
Pat inspired, shared her love of life and of learning, and filled our lives with hope and joy.

I was very saddened to hear of Mrs. Stone's (Pat's) sudden passing. She was an inspiration to so many, and proved that young women, and men can pursue and excel in whatever path they chose. She led the way - an incredible role model. May her gracious teachings continue to inspire for generations.
With heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.

There are just not enough good things you could say about Pat; she was such a phenomenal example of what a good teacher could be. I will always remember her smile, her laughter, her insight, and her passion for teaching. I was always re-energized as a teacher after spending time with her. What an amazing legacy she left as a teacher and as a human being.

Oh I am so sorry to read of Pat's passing. I have taught with her for so many years and worked with her in different capacities. But more importantly, we were long time friends. I was fortunate to visit her here on the Cape where we would reminisce about school and our philosophies on teaching and life in general. I can't believe she is gone. I will miss her but cherish all the memories. My sincere condolences to her family.
