

Obituary of Karen A. Charbonneau
Karen A. Honsinger Charbonneau, 71, of Berlin, beloved wife of the late Bruce Charbonneau, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late David and Mary C McGuire Honsinger and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School “CCHS” and attended Hudson Valley Community College “HVCC” both in Troy.
Karen retired after nearly 40 years of dedicated civilian service from the New York State Police in Albany.
She was known for her twisted sense of humor and extreme generosity. She loved to volunteer with Sidewalk Warriors Troy, She enjoyed her role as official family photographer and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Devoted mother of Matthew (Jennifer DeLorenzo) Honsinger, cherished grandmother of Darwin S. Honsinger and Isaac T. Honsinger, loving sister of Mary (George) Henkel, Dennis (Nancy and the late, Maureen) Honsinger, the late, David (late, Carol and the late, Donna) Honsinger, the late Thomas (Corinne and the late, Donna) Honsinger, the late, Daniel (late, Anne and late companion, Maureen Filarecki) and Dawn, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 and to the Funeral Service on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. also in the funeral home.
Interment will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Sidewalk Warriors Troy, 22 Morningside Dr., Latham, NY 12110, in memory of Karen A. Charbonneau.
