Florence D. Holmes Fitzgerald, 87, longtime resident of Clifton Park, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Born in Flushing, Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Mae Kelly Holmes and the beloved wife for 43 years to James A. Fitzgerald, Sr., until his passing on September 17, 2001.

Mrs. Fitzgerald worked at Wits End in Clifton Park for many years and for the Town of Clifton Park.

She was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park and a member of their Rosary Society.

Devoted mother of James A. (Susan) Fitzgerald, Jr., Eileen F. (Bill) Connor, Patricia (late, Jerry) Dumary and Mary C. Fitzgerald, sister of the late Robert and James Holmes, cherished grandmother of Emily, Audrey, Jerry, Laura, Amy, Erica, Conor, Meghan, Taylor, Patrick, and Brian and adored great grandmother of Andrew James “A.J.”, Jacob, Juliana, Avery, Abel, and Sawyer.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 and to the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd. in Clifton Park.

Interment will be held in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

The family would like to recognize the staff at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, House #5, for their exceptional care of our Mother.
