Melinda J. Hickok Obituary

Melinda J. Hickok, 56, of Halfmoon, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.


 


Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leonard D. and Mae Engelhardt Hickok and was a graduate of BOCES Saratoga Warren Counties and attended the Saratoga Bridges program where she had many friends.


 


Melinda enjoyed eating, swimming, bowling, singing, dancing and parties.  She participated in the Special Olympics for bowling and swimming.  She loved to travel with her parents and visited all 50 states.  Most of all, she loved cake, ice cream and singing Happy Birthday.


 


Devoted sister of Jeannette Cotrofeld, the late David Hickok (Dorothy), Gary (Paqui) Hickok, Paul Hickok, John (late, Nancy) Hickok, Kathleen (William) Cotrofeld, Barbara Hickok, James Hickok, Brian Hickok, Suzanne (Randy) Travis and Carol Graves.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and their families.


 


Relatives and friends are invited to Calling hours on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and to the Funeral Service that afternoon at 1:00 p.m. both in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.


 


Interment will follow in Hudsonview Cemetery, Halfmoon.


 


Melinda’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to The Eddy Visiting Nurses for the help and care they provided.


 


Memorial contributions can be made to Saratoga Bridges, in memory of Melinda J. Hickok.
