Gary Lee Snyder, Jr., 55, of Watervliet and formerly of Clifton Park, entered into eternal life on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Gary L. Snyder and Antoinette L. Campbell and the stepson of Joan Snyder. He was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School and Barry University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in Law.
Gary proudly served in the United States Army from 1987 to 1990 as a PV, earning his Wings at Airborne School. He then continued his service to our nation and state with the NYS Army National Guard. He was honored with the ceremonial title of Keeper of the Wings, a distinction symbolizing commitment to uphold the Airborne tradition and legacy. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16 ribbon and his Honorable Discharge.
Gary loved spending time with his family and friends, practicing his faith and music. He also enjoyed exploring digital technology, hiking, camping, reading and attending concerts. Gary was a Christian and had been a member of the Living Hope Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving children, Halie (Frank) Cicarelli, Sarah (Connor) Anderson and Andrew “Dewey” Snyder, who are survived by their mother Stephanie Snyder, dear brother of Donnie (Nicole) Campbell, Nicole Cappello, Stella Byrd, Margarita Swim, Victoria Rossi and Daniel Chiera, cherished grandfather of Evelyn Cicarelli and Frank Cicarelli, also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 for Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and to the Funeral Service which will be held that morning beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Interment with full military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
