Roy Allan "Truck" "Big Al" Barger Obituary

Roy Allan “Truck” “Big Al” Barger, 73, of Clifton Park, beloved husband for 50 years to Cande Crawford Barger, unexpectedly passed away at home on Friday, October 17, 2025.


 


Born in Hickory, NC, he was the son of the late Burton K. and the late Sadye Hauser Barger. He was a graduate of Davie County High School, Class of 1970. He attended Fork Union Military Academy for one year before earning his BA in 1975 from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory where he also met Cande. Roy served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1975-1978 having attained the rank of First Lieutenant.


 


Mr. Barger was self-employed for many years having owned and operated Extreme Team Sports Photography in Clifton Park documenting the extraordinary athletic talent of Shenendehowa Schools.


 


Roy loved photography creating sports collages, listening to music and attending concerts, sporting events and target shooting.  He loved watching his two granddaughters play high school volleyball. He also loved enjoying his daughter’s cooking and baking on holidays and discussing their family history.


 


Devoted husband to Cande, beloved father of Alissa (Bryan) Buffaloe, Abigayle (Luke) McLane, and Victor (Katie) Barger, loving grandfather to Sadye Buffaloe, Addison Buffaloe, Lydia Barger, Brynn Barger, and Caleb Barger, dear brother to Mary Ellen Barger, also survived by many special cousins and dear friends as well as his beloved cat Sara.  


 


Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m.


 


Inurnment will be held at a later time at Forsyth Memorial Park, Winston-Salem, NC.


 


Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Clifton Park Rifle Club, 644 Englemore Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065 in memory of Roy Allan Barger.
