Obituary of Janet L. Raymond

Janet L. Raymond, 93, of Troy, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Lottie Diehl Page and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Ms. Raymond retired in 1995 from NYNEX, where she was employed in Directory Assistance for 45 years.

Janet was an avid collector of snowmen and bears, loved flowers, strawberry rhubarb pie, cooking and enjoyed a beer, especially the foam on top. Most of all; she loved her home, her family and spending time with her family. She never missed attending any of her family events.

Devoted mother of Barbara Plante, Debbie Raymond, Chuck (Joanie) Raymond, Jr., Carolyn (Bud) Reichelt and mother-in-law of Tammy Raymond, cherished grandmother of Jennifer Green, Eric Green, Chris (Melanie) Raymond, Shauna (Cory) Raymond, Nick (Devyn) Reichelt and Daniel Reichelt, adored great grandmother to Teegan Green, Mollie Raymond, Austin and Luca Reichelt, also survived by her canine companion Dusty and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Page, Sr. and ex-husband Charles Raymond, Sr. and canine companions Nugget and Skip.

She was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church Lansingburgh.

Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 and to Trinity Episcopal Church, 585 Fourth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182 on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. where the Funeral Service will be celebrated.

Interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.

Janet’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Community Hospice, especially to Paul and Wendy for all of their loving help and care.
