
Obituary of Rev. Christian J. Lambertsen
Rev. Christian J. “Chris” Lambertsen, 91, of Lansingburgh, loving husband of Patricia Burr Lambertsen, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late George and Mary Bowes Lambertsen. He was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, HVCC and received his Pastoral Degree from Moody Bible Institute.
Rev. Christian “Chris” retired as a Police Officer for the City of Troy. He had previously been employed by Borden’s Dairy and Gurley Precision Instrument Company.
He was a U.S. Army, National Guard, Coast Guard and State Militia Veteran.
Rev. Christian “Chris” was a former Chaplain for the Troy Police Department, current Chaplain for the Troy Fire Department, Pleasantdale Volunteer Fire Dept., Korean War Veterans, former member of the American Legion Legnard-Curtin Post #927 in Green Island, current member of the American Legion Halfmoon Mohawk Post #1450 and was a communicant of the Heritage Baptist Church in Cohoes.
Rev. Christian was the beloved husband of the late Barbara A. Collins Lambertsen; survived by his wife Patricia Burr Lambertsen; devoted father of William (Marlene) Lambertsen of Troy, Peter (Robin) Lambertsen of Ravena, the late Carol Lynn (late, Donald) Booth and Sharon (Gary) O’Brien of Jordanville and the late Christian J. Lambertsen; step father of Michele (John) Nix of Atlantic Beach, NC, and Jason (Samantha) Burr of Brunswick; brother of the late, Ellen Joan “Joan” Thomas, the late George (late, Marion) Lambertsen and the late, Seren (late, Louise) Lambertsen; cherished grandfather, great grandfather and grandfather to the late Charlene. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Ave (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 on Monday, May 11, 2026 for Calling Hours from 4 to 7 p.m. and also for the Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 11 a.m.
Interment with military honors will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY 12871 at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Memorial contributions can be made to the Heritage Baptist Church, 50 Lansing Street, Cohoes, NY 12047, in memory of Rev. Christian J. Lambertsen.
