Lamia Barbera, 91, entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 5, 1935, in Hilan, Lebanon, she was the cherished daughter of the late Michael and Zahiya.

 

Lamia was the beloved wife of the late Wahib Barbera, with whom she built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, and devotion to family. Together, they created a strong and loving home that became the foundation for generations to come.

 

She was the devoted mother of Sabah (Nassib) Tlaiji, Maurice (Yvonne) Barbera, Odette Cooper, Maria (Nazir) Rezek, Abe (Jannette) Barbera, Pierre (Marie) Barbera, and Jeanie (Scott) Stapleton.

 

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her 7 children 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whose lives she touched deeply.

 

Lamia will always be remembered for her strength, kindness, unwavering faith, and endless love for her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and caring spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

 

Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday morning, May 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1 St. George Place, Albany, NY 12202, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Troy.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy NY 12180.
