Alfredo Rivera Obituary

Alfredo Rivera, 65, of Halfmoon, peacefully entered eternal life on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

Born and educated in Brooklyn of New York City, he was the son of the late Roland Lindgren and Lisa Singh and for thirty-one years the beloved companion of Ana Velazquez of Halfmoon, New York.

Alfredo Rivera was a man who lived his life with open arms and a generous heart, and rhythm of his own. Above all else, Alfredo treasured his family. Being a grandfather was his true calling, and his grandchildren were the absolute joy of his life. He took great care to ensure his family always knew they were loved, never missing an opportunity to send his hellos or say, “give the kids a hug and kiss for me.”

Music was Alfredo’s soul and his chosen language of love. Whether he was DJing, sharing his latest custom mixes or playing congas, music was his special way of sending meaningful messages to the people he cared about. His warmth extended to the kitchen, where he cooked meals filled with love, always selflessly ensuring everyone was fed and cared for before himself. A man of bright energy, he loved diving into the latest technology proudly displaying vibrant light decorations alongside photos of his beloved children and grandchildren.

Beloved companion to Ana, devoted father of Jessica M. Rivera, and Jasmine M. Rivera, also survived by Christian G., Julian G., Olivia S., Oliver S., Ophelia S., Luna T. and Eliana T.
