Obituary of Van Gregory Coons
Van Gregory Coons, 73, of Watervliet, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Born in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Van Buren Coons and Patricia LaMora Coons.
He had previously been employed for a brief period by the City of Albany Department of Public Works.
Van is the brother of Mary Jane Williams (Michael), Patrick Coons (Denise), Marie Murphy (Robert), Susan Coons, Deborah Fredette (Victor), Loretta Coons and Philip Coons
Funeral will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182 followed by burial at New Rural Cemetery in Rensselaer.
