Obituary of Lillian D. Chapman

Lillian D. Foster Chapman, 76, of Albany, formerly of 8^th Street in Troy, peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Lambert Foster and was a graduate of Troy High School.

Lillian had been employed at the former Rensselaer County Senior Citizens Center on Third Street in Troy.

She enjoyed bowling, dancing, singing, playing games like Bingo and Keno, exercising.

Lillian had been a member of the Topperette’s Bowling Team at Uncle Sam Lanes in Troy.

Devoted mother of Anita Chapman, Celeste Chapman (Craig), Lillian Smith, Tamika Chapman, Patricia (Vuntrail) Foster, Daniel (Milissa) Tucker, Preston Cade, Justin Mallory and the late Willie F. “Boober” Chapman, Jr., loving sister of Marion (John) McDonald, John “Chip” Foster and the late Thomas (Kathy) Foster, also survived by 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, cousins, their families and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and to the Home Going Service which follows at 11:00 a.m. all at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115^th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

Interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
