Obituary of Vita A. Gaedje

Vita A. Gaedje, 71, of Danbury Court died on Tuesday Dec. 15, 2020 at her home in the loving care of her family. She was born on June 11, 1949 in New Rochelle, N Y and was the daughter of the late John and Carmela Bologna Margotta. Vita was a graduate of New Rochelle High School and Westchester Community College. She was the beloved wife of William A. Gaedje, whom she married on Oct. 22, 1972. Vita retired in 2004 from the New York State Dept. of Tax and Finance in Albany where she had been a tax auditor. She loved volley ball and bowling. Vita was a longtime volunteer with Special Olympics in Saratoga. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. She had been a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, NY. Most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her family. In addition to her beloved husband, Vita is the devoted mother of John (Elijah Turner) Gaedje of Clifton Park, Mark (Krista) Gaedje of E. Granby, CT and Ryan (Nicole Blond) Gaedje of Clifton Park; sister of John (Ann Bruno) Margotta, Jr. of New Rochelle, NY and Judy (David) Kucera of Somers, NY; grandmother of Brandon, Kayden, Charlotte, Brianna and Kyla Gaedje and Kylie Wacikowski; aunt of Joseph and Julianne Kucera. Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 4-7 pm Monday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065. Memorial contributions may be made to “Loving Home for Mom and Dad, 972 Grooms Rd, Rexford, NY 12148” .
