Dateline: Clifton Park, New York

Margaret Alida Evans, 69, of Clifton Park, NY and previously of Manchester, VT, died on Friday May 7, 2021 at her residence after a long illness.  She was born on Dec. 25, 1951 in Elmira, NY and was the daughter of the late William Chester and Eloise Ann McIntire Botsford.  She was a graduate of Hammondsport High School and Alfred University where she received her degree in Elementary Education.  Margaret retired as a paraeducator, having worked for the Sunderland Elementary School, the Dorset Elementary School, and several other local schools in the Manchester, VT area.  She was a voracious reader who enjoyed watching game shows, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with her family. When her children were growing up Margaret never missed a sporting event, concert, or play. In spite of life’s challenges, she always maintained a wicked sense of humor and possessed an infectious laugh. Margaret was a patient with the Dialysis Center at SVMC in Bennington, VT and was fortunate to receive their high-quality care.

She is the beloved mother of Emily P. (Joel) Aure of Clifton Park, NY and Daniel S. (Katie Collette) Evans of Fletcher, VT; dear sister of Norman (Jeddie) Botsford of Brownsboro, AL, Jennifer Botsford of Ontario, NY and Evelyn (Tony) Adams of Greece, NY; cherished grandmother of Wallace Horacio Aure and Eleanor Margaret Aure both of Clifton Park, NY; also survived by a niece and three nephews, great-nieces and nephews as well as her faithful mutt, Katie. She is predeceased by her nephew William Botsford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the SVMC’s Renal Service Unit for “Patient Support”, 100 Hospital Dr. Suite 41 Bennington, VT 05201.
