Obituary of Roland LeBarron

Please share a memory of Roland to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Roland LeBarron, 88, of Rensselaer, passed away on Tuesday June 8th, at home, with his daughter at his side.

Roland was a proud Navy veteran, a retired truck driver, a member of Clinton Lodge No.140 F. &A.M, and a gambler.

He loved his family, his friends, casinos, feeding his flock of wild turkeys at Brian’s house and a hot cup of coffee. He was always generous, helping anyone he could, whenever he could, without asking for more than a genuine “thank you” in return. He had strong opinions, wasn’t reticent about sharing them and loved a good argument. He grew up in the Cambridge NY area, traveled all over the world in the service, before settling on Taborton mountain to raise his family. One of his proudest achievements was donating that land to the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance, so future generations will be able to enjoy it as he and his beloved wife did for most of their 56 year marriage. He spent the last four years of his life living with his daughter Robbin Dzembo and his great granddaughter, Mel Constantino. That time was invaluable for all three. Roland was predeceased by his wife Bessie (Danio) but they’re together now, dancing in the sky.

His family would like to thank Community Hospice, VA Home-based Primary Care, especially his doctor, Lorilyn Cooley and his nurse Kelly, and the people who cared for him when he was ill, Carl Stone and Jim Felt.

The funeral will be held on Thursday June 17th at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871 at 1:30 pm.
