Obituary of Susan M. Kirkman
Susan M. Kirkman, 68 of Cohoes, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on July 4, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Thaddeus and Theresa Benjamin Nowak and the beloved wife of James S. Kirkman who passed away on October 3, 2010. She was a graduate of Keveny Academy in Cohoes and Mary McClellan Hospital School of Nursing in Cambridge.
Susan had been employed at Albany Memorial Hospital and Eckerd Pharmacy in Cohoes until leaving the workforce.
Susan enjoyed being a mother and a grandmother. Her hobbies and interests included spending time with her family, listening to her favorite band The Beatles, and crocheting.
She was a woman of great faith and worshipped at the United Church of Cohoes and Good Ground Church in Cohoes. She was also a member of Grace Fellowship in Latham.
Devoted mother of Andrew (Barbara Mitchell) Kirkman of Troy, Jason (Helena) Kirkman of Cairo, Greg (Anna) Kirkman of Pattersonville, Elizabeth (Arthur Wright) Kirkman and Sarah Kirkman, both of Cohoes and the late Mary Patricia Kirkman, sister of the late Thomas Nowak who is survived by his wife Sharon of Saratoga Springs, cherished grandmother of Danielle E. Gumke-Dull, Gregory J. Kirkman, Jaxon P. Kirkman and Adrian J. Wright, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick St., Troy, NY 12180.
A calling hour to which relatives and friends are invited will be held at the funeral home that day from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be held private by the family in St. Michaels’ Cemetery, Waterford.
The Kirkman family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the health care team of St. Peter’s Hospital.
