Obituary of Nancy I. Hamel

Nancy I. Hamel, 80 of Clifton Park, beloved wife of the late William J. Hamel, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Constance Marcott VanZandt.

She was a bookkeeper for Colonie Construction Products and was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.

Nancy was the devoted mother of William (Gretchen) Hamel of Clifton Park, Mike (Janet) Hamel of East Greenbush and Mark (Beth) Hamel of Raleigh, NC; sister of John VanZandt and the late Charles VanZandt; cherished grandmother of Alexis Hamel and Keri Thorpe and four great grandchildren,  also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Monday, September 20, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park where the Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated.

There will be a closed casket visitation for 45 min in the Chapel before the 10 a.m. Mass.

Interment will be held in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park, NY 12065, in memory of Nancy I. Hamel.
