Obituary of John C. Proctor

John C. Proctor, 63, of Firehouse Rd. died on Thursday Sept. 22, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Albany after a brief illness. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Shirley and James Lennie and the late John C. Proctor and Ann Proctor of Clifton Park. John retired two weeks ago from the Shenendehowa Central School District where he had been a Building Supervisor in the East High School. He was an avid race car driver, for over 40 years. Car #352, with his home track at Albany Saratoga Speedway (Malta). He was the CVRA track champion in 1986. John enjoyed bowling, and boating on the river. His greatest joy was going to camp on Lake Champlain with his family. He is the beloved husband of Vicki Proctor, whom he married on Oct. 20, 1973; devoted father of Shawn (Jeremy) Eggleston and Leeann Proctor of Clifton Park; cherished Poppy of Kendall, Natalee and Trevor Eggleston; brother of Linda (the late Donald) Wright of Middle Grove, NY, Steven (Helen) Proctor of Clifton Park, Wayne (Nancy) Proctor of Findlay, OH, Ricky (Derrie) Proctor of East Lyme, CT, Keith Proctor of OH and Patricia (the late Patrick) Daignault of Waterford, CT; son-law of Donald Horner of Clifton Park and the late Shirley Horner; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 am in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park.Calling hours will be from 4-8 pm Monday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Waterford Rural Cemetery in Waterford. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home.
