Obituary of William R. Cox

William R. Cox, 76, of Troy, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by his family. 

Born in Watervliet, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Lewis.

William was a United States veteran serving in the US Air Force.

He worked for 25 years at Matthew Bender and 23 years at Star and Strand.

William loved playing games and watching movies with his best pal Jacob. Whenever he saw Jacob, they both smiled ear to ear.

William was the beloved husband of Stephanie F. Cox; father of William (Stephanie) Cox and Christine Yando, grandfather of Alex, Logan, Cassondra, Jessica and Tiffany; great grandfather of Jacob, Jackson, Jayden, Xavier and Nova, brother of Edward (Kendy) Cox and the late David Lewis; brother in law of Kim (Ed) Goyette and Bernie (Tina) Grimmick, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, 25-115^th Street Troy, NY 12182.

Calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the Mass on Thursday at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115^th Street & Fourth Avenue in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
