Jeannette Marion Saunders, 83, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Samaritan Hospital on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Marion Winters Downing and was a graduate of Cambridge High School.

Mrs. Saunders had been employed for several years at Samaritan Hospital in the X-Ray file room and patient transportation. 

She was the beloved wife of James L. “Jim” Saunders for 51 years, devoted mother of Jeffrey J. (Stephanie) Johnson, Joel L. (Kritsana) Saunders, Jay L. (Season Davenport) Saunders, mother-in-law of the late Kerri N. Saunders, sister of Joyce Montgomery, cherished grandmother of Jeffrey Johnson, Minnie Saunders, Sabrina (Jose Santiago) Saunders and Madison (Terin Johnson) Saunders, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her hobbies and interests included attending garage and estate sales, collecting Holly Hobbie and Boyds bears, and playing cards with friends.  She also enjoyed playing BINGO, tending to her cats, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. 

Jeannette was a loving matriarch who always put her family before herself.  She extended the same love and care to many close friends and neighbors, assisting many through to the final days of their lives.  She was the center hub of our family wheel.

A celebration of life will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from Noon to 2:00 p.m. that afternoon.

Burial will be held in Island Hill Cemetery, Buskirk.
