Mary Alice Barnes, 86, of Clifton Park passed away peacefully at the Daughter’s of Sarah Nursing Home in Albany after lengthy illness.  She was born on Dec. 22, 1936 in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Charles and Yvonne  


Carrier.  She was a graduate of Cohoes High School and was the beloved wife of John “Jack” E. Barnes, Jr.  She and Jack just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 24th.  Mary Alice had worked for the Price Chopper Markets in their produce dept. and earlier she had worked for the NYS Dept. of Tax and Finance in Albany. She  was a wonderful homemaker.  She loved the cardinal birds, knitting, crocheting and camping at Moffitt Beach in Speculator.  She along with her husband Jack owned and operated Jack’s Ceramics in Halfmoon for many years.  


 


In addition to her husband Jack, she is the devoted mother of Debra A. Serritella (Alfred) and Douglas Charles Barnes (Linda); cherished grandmother of John Charles Barnes.


 


Calling hours will  be from 10-12 noon on Thursday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.  Her service will follow the calling hours at 12 noon.


 


Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY.
