Dateline:  Comstock, New York

At 3:03pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023, William (Bill) R. Jones of Comstock, NY passed peacefully, surrounded by people who loved him at Glens Falls Hospital, at the age of 69, after a short battle with Cancer. Bill was born in Scranton, PA on October 14, 1954, and was the son of John & Marion Flynn Jones. In his younger years, Bill worked in the Rolling Mill at Altech Steel before taking his retirement in 1999. He later took on other business ventures, such as owning a Pool Hall and a local Getty Mart, and was also a school bus driver. Bill was also a phenomenal billiards player, roller skater, and he had that one amazing dance move. He was also a passionate coach, teaching countless youth the rules and tricks to so many sports, which came so naturally to Bill, as he was a tremendous and well-rounded athlete.

Bill married young to his first wife, Sharon Carter, and was known to say that she gave him the best gift he could ask for, his kids. His oldest, his daughter, Korina C. Jones, and his youngest, his son, Timothy W. Jones. As well as their partners, Charles Viele (partner to Korina) & Rebecca Jones (wife to Timothy). Over the years, Bill cherished the role as Grandfather, whether he was known as Papa Jones or Papoo, to Joshua, Natasha, Gavin, Lily, and Brooklyn. Bill was the brother of Janice Green, his twin Wayne Jones, Barbara Tasso, and the predeceased David Jones, Thomas Jones, and Matthew Jones. He is survived by his partner, Caren Welch, and her children and grandchildren, along with several nieces & nephews.

A remembrance service will be held from 4-7pm on Jan. 23, 2024 at the Hideaway, located at 35 Grace Moore Rd, Saratoga, NY 12866. With a Celebration of life Pool Tournament on February 3, 2024, at 10:30am at Cue & Brew, 49 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828.
