Darlene E. Brown, 61, of Grooms Road, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. She was born in the Samaritan Hospital on Nov. 6, 1962 and was the beloved daughter of Allan T. Brown, Ret. Justice of the Town of Halfmoon, and the late Marian A. Boyce Brown. Darlene was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, class of 1980, and Hudson Valley Community College.  She had worked for the Grand Union Co. in Waterford for about 10 years. She was the manager of D.A.M. Liquors in Halfmoon for 27 years. Darlene was a softball enthusiast. 

 

In addition to her father and mother, Darlene is the sister of Debra Haas (Maurice) of Cincinnati, OH; aunt of Kristal Smith, Michelle Ilia and Jennifer Fergusen; great-aunt of Jade Analena Renner, Dean Allan Renner, Calvin Thomas Renner and Colton Reid Fergusen; also survived by her cousins, Lori Mayer, Kathy Young, Jonathan O’Kelly and several other cousins and friends. 

 

Funeral will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

 

Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

 

Interment will be in Hudson View Cemetery, Halfmoon, New York
