Obituary of Joseph P. Ahrent
Joseph P. Ahrent, 68, of Cohoes and formerly of Troy, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by is family at home on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Angelo L. “Chico” Acevedo and the late Elaine Currier Grober and the stepson of the late Violet B. Parnell Acevedo.
Joe was a Mr. Fix-it and self employed contractor being able to take on any type of construction work that was needed of him.
He was a sports fanatic and in particular of the New York Jets, New York Yankees and the LA Lakers.
Beloved husband to Lynne M. Perrier Ahrent with whom he had been together for the last 46 years with, devoted father of Joseph P. (Sabrina) Ahrent, II, Michael Ahrent, Robert Ahrent, James (Katie Auclair) Ahrent, Michelle (Michael Lamanda) Ahrent and Joshua Ahrent, brother of Marvin (Rose) Ahrent and the late Patricia Guess, Nancy (late Nelson) Young, Robert (Muriel) Ahrent, David Ahrent, Angelo “Luis” Acevedo, Jr., Clarence Ahrent, cherished grandfather of Aaliyah Ahrent, Keira Ahrent, Natalie Ahrent, Alexis Ahrent, Joseph Ahrent, Michael Ahrent, Jace Ahrent, Anthony Ahrent, Olive Ahrent, Colin Ryan, Matthew Ryan and Michael Lamanda, also survived by special friends and caregivers Kelly Bashford and Tracey Layaou as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and to the Funeral Service that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.
Joe’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Kia who provided wonderful care for the past year, as well as to other caregivers from Community Hospice.
Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, in memory of Joseph P. Ahrent.
