Obituary of Shahava Berkeley-Hawkins

Shahava Berkeley-Hawkins, 31, of Albany and formerly of Troy, went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany, New York.

Born in Troy, New York, Shahava is the daughter of Tina M. Berkeley and Richard Hawkins. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

Shahava was employed at the UAlbany Campus Center in Albany.

She loved working, was always there for anyone, loved helping others and most of all caring for her daughter.

She was predeceased by both sets of grandparents: Mary and John Berkeley and Richard and Dorothy Hawkins, aunts and uncle Mary Ramsey, Edith Hawkins and William Berkeley, and brother Khasiem Berkeley.

In addition to her parents, Shahava is survived by her 18 month old baby girl Nalani Anderson, her companion Nathaniel Anderson, her sister Shaakira (Phillips)Pfitz, her aunts and uncles; Barbara Berkeley, Carl Berkeley, Bruce Berkeley, Jon “JD'' Berkeley, David “June” Berkeley, Veda Wilson, Jacqueline Brace, Vanessa Meredith, Beverly Hawkins, Shirley Hawkins, and Mark Hawkins and her Great Uncle Willie (Grave) Davis, also survived by a host of loving cousins, relatives and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182.

Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
