Linda A. Tunney Obituary

Linda Ann Tunney, 75, of Clifton Park, passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, after a heartfelt day of many visits from close friends and family. She was born on July 26, 1949 in Albany and was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Wilhelmina (Bradt) Harper. Linda was a loving stay-at-home mother until her children left for college. She then worked as an administrative assistant for the former Regallo Inc. in Albany for many years. Linda had been an avid bowler, walked daily, enjoyed traveling, the beach, taking cruises, and was a long-term member of a gourmet cooking group. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.


 


Linda was happily married for 50 years to the late James X. Tunney. She is the devoted mother of James M. Tunney (Angie), Christopher J. Tunney (Paula) and Matthew R. Tunney; sister of the late Shirley Hyland, John Harper (Jane) and the late Bruce Harper (Carol who survives); cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn A., James N., Justin C., and Leanna S. Tunney; also survived by several nieces and nephews.


 


Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 4-7 pm on Friday, August 9, 2024 in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.


 


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 8:30 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd. Clifton Park, NY 12065.


 


Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY at 10 am on Saturday.


 


Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane Latham, NY 12110.
