John Richard Alden Obituary

John Richard Alden, 86, of Indian Lake at Snowy Mountain, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024 at the Gateway House of Peace. He was born on August 21, 1938 in Springfield, MA and was the son of the late Charles F. and Mary O’Hara Alden. John retired from the New York State Police as a Trooper and had also run the Snowy Mountain Inn at Indian Lake since 1999 with his beloved companion Judy. He had enjoyed boating on Lake George in their boat “Lake Snake”.


 


In addition to Judy, John is survived by his daughter of Laurie Case (Gerald) and his son Jeffrey Alden. He was predeceased by his two cllidren John R. Alden, Jr. and Mary Alden and his brother Charles F. Alden, Jr.


 


He is the grandfather of Amber (Kim), Cory (Amy), Danielle and the late Kyle and Lee; great grandfather of Alice and Bailey; also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.


 


Funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065, 518-371-5454.
