Sumati Mangalmurti, 86, formerly of Clifton Park for nearly 40 years, passed over on Thursday Dec. 26, 2024 at her sons home in Niskayuna in the loving care of her family. She was born on March 6, 1938 in Kolhapur, India and was the daughter of the late Ramrao and Anandabai Latker. Sumati was educated in the India School system where she received her bachelor’s degree. She was the beloved wife of Shrihari Mangalmurti who survives. They came to the United States in 1970. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and pottery. She was a member of the Albany Hindu Temple.

Sumati is the devoted mother of Sandeep Mangalmurti, MD (Namita Sugandhi, Ph.D) and Sarang Mangalmurti, MD (Nilam, MD); cherished grandmother of Jiya, Pavan and Aarya Mangalmurti. She is survived by two out of four sisters in India.

The Hindu Ritual will be held on Monday Jan. 6th at 11:00 am in the Gardner Earl Crematory Chapel, 186 Oakwood Ave Troy, NY 12182.
