Obituary of Thomas H. Esposito
Thomas H. "Unc" Esposito, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
He was born in Port Henry, New York and was the son of the late Patrick and Antoinette Esposito. He was the husband of Thomasine (Meddis) Esposito, who passed away on September 3, 2016. Tom was a graduate of Troy High School and was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Tom retired from Behr-Manning (Norton-St. Gobain) where he had been a machine helper, retiring after 37 1/2 years of service.
Tom is survived by his son David (Connie) Esposito, three grandsons who loved their "Papa"; Zachary (Brittany), Alexander and Jorden, was eagerly anticipating becoming a great grandfather to Alonzo David Esposito. Tom was the brother of Patricia (George) Durivage of North Greenbush, late Albert (Jean of Pleasantdale) Esposito, the late Joseph (Sally of Cohoes) Esposito and the late Louise Sweet, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge #1500, enjoyed fishing, bowling and trips. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his grandsons attending all of their sporting events. Tom was also a volunteer of the Watervliet Senior Center for over 22 years and at the Van Rensselaer Manor, C-3 dining area. Tom had a special love for people, especially Seniors.
Funeral will be held on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (Corner of 115th Street & 4th. Avenue in Lansingburgh) Troy, NY 12182, thence to St. Anthony of Padua Shrine Church, 28 State St. in Troy, where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment with military honors will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
His family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, aides and staff for the excellent care he received at the Samaritan Hospital ICU.
