Eleanor Quigley, 82 of Ballston Lake, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady on January 29, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Prosper Morrissette and Yvonne (Moriarty) Morrissette. Eleanor received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and her Masters in Teaching from SUNY Oneonta. Upon her graduation, Eleanor went on to have a distinguished 30 year elementary school teaching career at Shenendehowa Central School District. Eleanor was as creative a person as you could imagine. She embraced new technology such as her beloved Kindle, was an accomplished seamstress and crochetier and excelled at bridge. Every one of her children’s households has at least one cherished item that Eleanor hand made for them. Upon her retirement, she could be found with her husband attending a game, recital, birthday party, spelling bee, first communion or any number of activities of her twelve grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Paul J. Quigley as well as her brother Daniel Morrissette and daughter, Kathleen Yvonne Quigley. Survivors include her loving children, Paul (Tina) Quigley, Betsy (Brian) Pacelli, Carolyn (Dan) Cafarelli, Kelly (Roger) Murray, and twelve grandchildren. Additionally, Eleanor is survived by her two nieces Michelle (Bill) McCarthy and Danielle (Ron) Charron and sister in-law Patricia Morrissette. Lastly, Eleanor’s family would like to express its deepest gratitude to the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit at Ellis Hospital.
