Obituary of Wahib Mitri Barbera

Wahib Mitri Barbera, 89, of Brunswick, beloved husband of Lamia Barbera, peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
Born and raised in Hilan, Lebanon, he was the son of the late Mitri Barbera and Almaza Sawan and immigrated with his family to the United States as a young man.
Mr. Barbera retired from Samaritan Hospital in Troy and had previously been employed at Cluett, Peabody  & Co. in Troy.

Beloved husband Lamia, devoted father of Sabah (Nassib) Tlaiji, Maurice (Yvonne) Barbera, Odette Cooper, Maria (Nazir) Rezek, Abe (Jannette) Barbera, Albert Pierre (Marie) Barbera and Jeanie (Scott) Stapleton, loving brother of Souraya Hayek (late, Ibrahim), late Michael Barbera (Zabed) and Naami (Aboudd) Hayek, also survived by his 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral liturgy will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1 St. George Pl., Albany, NY 12202 with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180.  The Trisagion service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family desires memorial contributions to be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church (address above), in memory of Wahib M. Barbera.
