Obituary of Janet H. Alessandrini

Janet H. Alessandrini, 88, of Clifton Park Center Road, died on Thursday Sept. 21, 2017 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.  She was born in Schenectady on Jan. 12, 1929 and was the daughter of the late John and Albertina McLeod Hunter.  She was a graduate of Burnt Hills High School and attended Columbia Bible College in South Carolina.  Janet had been the comptroller for the former Topper Pontiac-Buick in Saratoga Springs and later for F.H. Alexander, Inc. in Ballston Lake, retiring 7 years ago.  In her early years, Janet worked for General Electric in Schenectady and for Schenectady Tile Company.  She was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, gardening, knitting and cooking.  Janet also enjoyed bird watching.

She is the beloved mother of Frank H. (Ann) Alessandrini of Johnsonville, NY, Norma Jean Matthews of Lee’s Summit, MO, John H. (Leia) Alessandrini of Valdez, AK and Tina Marie Alessandrini (Todd Baldwin) of Salem, NY; sister of Donald (Elizabeth) Hunter of Bolingbrook, Il and the late Harvie Hunter, Ian Hunter and Nan McNamee; Grandmother of Kathleen A. Alessandrini (Eric Bear), Frank H. Alessandrini IV, and Kyle J. Matthews; great grandmother of Tucker Bear and Abilene Bear; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will held Wednesday, September 27 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Funeral services will be private.

Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady, NY.
