Obituary of Dorothy M. Bartoski
Dorothy M. Collins Bartoski, 94, formerly of Troy, beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Bartoski, peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday, November 4, 2017.
Born and educated in West Wyoming, PA, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Elizabeth Kent Collins and the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Bartoski who died on June 29, 2009.
Mrs. Bartoski retired in August 1971 from Tek-Hughes in Watervliet and had previously been employed at Montgomery Ward's in Menands for 25 years.
Dorothy had been a communicant of the former St. Patrick's Church in Troy and was previously involved in Troy politics. She served as a Girl Scouts Troop Leader at St. Patrick's School in Troy and had been a member of the American Legion Post #1615 Ladies Auxiliary in Watervliet.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter; Carol Felitti of Troy, three grandchildren; Deborah "Debbie" (Thomas) Dougherty, Jr., Joseph (Nicole) Felitti and Gerald Felitti, Jr., dear friend of Geraldine and Thomas Dougherty of Lansingburgh, also survived by nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by a great-great grandson Joseph Felitti and her siblings; Marjorie (late Joseph) Fetta, Leona (late Henry) Mabin, Ethel (late Raymond) Stark and Sheridan Anderson.
Funeral will be held on Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (115th Street in Lansingburgh) Troy, New York 12182 thence to Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 N. Lake Avenue (at the corner of Marshland Ct. in Sycaway) Troy, NY 12180 where at 11:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
