Obituary of Frances M. Cole
Frances M. "Fran" Cole, 80, formerly of Dana Avenue, Wynantskill, peacefully entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Born and educated in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna Martin Bruno and was the beloved wife of the late William M. Cole, Sr. who had served the community as a firefighter with the Troy Fire Department. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker who raised 4 children, Colleen M. Christian of Troy, William M. Cole, Jr. (Mary Alice) of Lake George, Dennis Cole (Sherry Flansburg) of Troy and Mary Ann (Philip) Beals of Wynantskill. She also enjoyed the camaraderie of being the wife of a firefighter with other firefighters and their wives and families (most notably her dear friend, Mary Verrillo and her late husband, Edward Verrillo).
Fashion was her passion and she was a model for women's clothing at Peerless East as well as Denby's in Troy, NY. Macy's was always her favorite department store and she had the joy of shopping there just recently with her two daughters.
Mrs. Cole is also the sister of the late Susan (late Alfred) McShane and the late Benjamin Bruno, Jr., also survived by 7 grandchildren and nieces dear to her heart, Janet (Robert) Brooks and Carol (George) Anderson.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 43 Brookside Ave, Wynantskill, NY 12198.
Private visitation will be held for the family.
Interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
Mrs. Cole's family wishes to extend their most sincere gratitude to all of the CNA's, RN's, physicians, her "Brooklyn buddies” as well as to the remainder of the staff at the Daughter's of Sarah Nursing Center in Albany who were all her angels for their devoted, loving and compassionate care which was offered to their mother and themselves while she was in their care.
