Obituary of Frederick Brazee
Frederick Brazee, 62, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the Stratton VAMC in Albany, surrounded by his loving family.
Son of William and Margaretha Brazee, Frederick was born in Munich, Germany in 1955 and later became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
Fred had a Huge kind heart, a devotion like no other to his family and a special bond to his loving parents. Being the only boy out of five children – he was the glue that bonded his family together.
At a young age, Fred discovered a love of reptiles and other exotic animals and continued to enjoy them throughout his life. He would volunteer his time and expertise to school children and zoo visitors exhibiting his own wildlife pet collection.
Fred also had a love of classic Cars and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He would frequent car shows and reminisce about all the cars he owned throughout his life, his favorite was the '79 Lincoln – He was even given the nick-name “Hot-Rod Lincoln” by one of his Nurses at the Albany VA.
In the 70’s Fred served Honorably in the 82nd Airborne Division - 505th Infantry regiment of the U.S. Army. In 1992 Serving as President of the RI Airborne Association, Fred along with the help of Senator Jack Reed, was instrumental in raising funds to have the POW/MIA Flag placed at the Veterans Medical Center in Providence, RI.
Frederick is survived by his Father William; his four Sisters, Sindy Brazee, Shirley (Paul) Bouchard, Brenda (Robert) Dobie, Dawn (Cory) VanDerwarker, and their children - his Nieces and Nephews, Jessica, Woody, Scott, Sondra and Rainee.
