Obituary of Mary Petro Wasnick

Mary Petro Wasnick, 95, passed away on Monday, August 13,2018.  Although she was a lifetime resident of Binghamton, NY, she was born in 1922 in Pine Hill, PA.  She was a kind hearted, generous spirit, whose beautiful smile and infectious laugh touched all who knew her.  Even though she was an avid reader, and always enjoyed arguing her side of politics, her family was her greatest joy.  Her great grandsons could always count on her to tell them stories of her youth and play cards with them. Everyone could count on her to find the humor in any situation, and was always able to lift ones spirit simply by talking to her.  She enjoyed family get togethers and was the happiest when everyone was laughing and having a good time.  Known as "Budda", she instilled a love of life and laughter in her family.  Her great wisdom will hold a special place in her families hearts.  She always said she was blessed with her family, but she was her families greatest blessing.

Her spirit is carried on by her daughter, Kathleen Sokol, grandaughter, Nicole Castler (Jeff) , grandsons  Matt Sokol (Ashley) and Dan Sokol (Allie), great grandsons, Tyler and Luke Castler, brother Nick Petro and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary requested a private service with her family.  The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who cared for her and brought joy, love and laughter to her life.
