Obituary of Jean R. Blair
Jean R. Blair, 87, of Lansingburgh, peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by the loving comfort and care of her family on Monday, October 22, 2018.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Mildred Cioffi Gallo and was the beloved wife of 56 years to Edgar J. Blair, until his passing on January 8, 2008. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
Mrs. Blair retired from the Highgate Nursing Home in Pleasantdale.
She had been a very active volunteer at the Lansingburgh Little League, enjoyed travelling with her husband on their many trips, and loved cooking. She was all about the food.
Devoted mother of Thomas Blair (Maryellen) of Niskayuna, Michael E. Blair, Sr. (Katherine Quackenbush-Blair) of Brunswick, and Millie Blair-Mooney (Neal Mowry) of Troy, loving sister of Joseph A. Gallo (Jeanette), Rose Perrotto, Marie Douglas, Thomasine DeShaw (David Robertson), Carmaline Caliguire (Pat) and the late Anna Pettit (late, Frank W., Jr.), cherished Nana of Bridget Blair, Bryan Blair, Nicole Miller, Matthew Blair, Hollyn Blair, Michael E. Blair, Jr. and Noah Blair, adored great grandmother of Charlotte Blair and Grace Miller, mother -in-law of the late Kenneth Mooney, also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral will be held on Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (corner of 115th Street in Lansingburgh), Troy, New York 12182. thence to St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be held in St. John's Cemetery, Troy.
The Blair family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses on the 2nd and 4th Floors of St. Peter's Hospital as well as to Jean's special caregivers, Odessa and Joyce for their dedication and loving care.
