Philip E. Peterson, beloved husband of Louise Fazzone Peterson, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. Born on February 22, 1925 in Linden, NJ, he was the son of the late Rev Hammond I. and Eunice M. Sawyer Peterson.
He was a US Army Veteran who served during World War II. He saw action in the Battle of the Bulge, Ruhr Pocket and the Bridge at Ramegen. He was wounded in each area with the last being the most serious which took him out of the war. After recuperating at a hospital in the states, he received an honorable discharge.He graduated from Colby College and started work at General Electric where he met his wife and worked in the finance department for 38 years. During his life, Philip was active in a local church, wherever he resided.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, , four sons and daughter; Rev. Bruce Peterson, Greg Peterson, Doug Peterson, Lynne Cragg and Scott Peterson. Also survived by ten grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be private. Those who desire, may make memorial contributions to The Gideons International, Rensselaer Camp, P.O. Box 743, Troy, NY 12181 in memory of Philip Peterson.
