Obituary of Alvin Gardner

Alvin Gardner, 54, of Troy, peacefully entered into eternal life on January 1, 2019.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Marvin and Mattie Robinson Gardner, Sr.

Alvin had been employed at Hudson Valley Community College for 21 years.

Brother of Herbert Robinson, Marvin Gardner, Doreen Moore and Berdell Silas, survived by one uncle, Oliver (Deloris) Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 Fifth Avenue, Troy, New York 12180 and to his Celebration of Life Service at the Church, which will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.

Alvin's family would like to express their most sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr's. Patel, Strumph, Cruz and all of the wonderful professionals in the ICU, PCU and Fourth Floor at Samaritan Hospital for their compassionate care and would like to extend a special thank you and recognition to Harold Pettiway and Kermit McCauley for being Alvin's wonderful friends and caregivers.
