Craig “Rocky” Richard Rockwell June 25th, 1943 – June 15th, 2019

Craig “Rocky” Richard Rockwell, 75 of Brunswick, died unexpectedly while on vacation in NC.

He is survived by his wife Frances Gail Rockwell, two sons; Craig Rockwell Jr. (Margaret) and Mark Rockwell (Stacey); one daughter, Tracy Christie (Dennis). Two stepsons; Edwin Roberts Jr. (Vickie) and William Roberts (Katelyn); two step daughters, Pauline Hansen (Craig) and Laura Price (Michael). One brother; Raymond Rockwell, five grandchildren; Alicia O’Brien (James), Craig Raymond Rockwell, John Rockwell, Kendra Scott and Sara Rockwell, and four step grandchildren; Wade Hansen, Hailey Hansen, Zoey Roberts and Novaleigh Roberts, two great grandchildren; Wyatt and Charlotte Furcinnitti. His best friend Jim Sheeran. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Anna (Dowd) Rockwell. And recently by his best friend since childhood, Eddie Ruff.

He graduated from Troy High School and was a proud veteran of the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam Era.

Before retirement he worked for NY State for over 30 years.

Craig loved to sit in the sun, the beach, boating, camping, reading books, shooting horseshoes and playing poker. He was raised in Troy and lived at Babcock Lake, Grafton for more than 35 years before moving to Brunswick. Craig loved to travel as long as he didn’t fly. He and his wife Gail recently went on a road trip that took them across the lower 48 states. They spent time visiting relatives, exploring the desert and marveling at the landscape. After spending a week in Las Vegas they traveled to San Diego, Ca enjoying the many venues it has to offer including wading in the Pacific Ocean. Craig loved westerns so a trip to Tombstone, AZ and The Alamo in Texas was a must. Before heading to the Pan Handle of Florida they enjoyed Mardis Gras in Louisiana and eating gator bites, and crawfish. This summer they were planning to travel the upper 48 all the way to Washington State. Craig also enjoyed going to the National Parks.
