Obituary of William E. Sherwood

     William E. Sherwood, 72, of the Spring Brook Community died on Tuesday June 25, 2019 at his residence in the loving care of his daughter.  He was born on May 10, 1947 in Albany, NY and was the son of the late Ernest and Dorothy Dorry Sherwood.  He was a graduate of Albany High School and Maine Husson College where he received his bachelors degree.  Bill served in the US Marines from 1966 – 1970 when he was honorably discharged.  He had been a supervisor for the former Eden Park Nursing Home in Albany and retired in 2014. 

     He is the beloved husband of the late Joan Sherwood who died in 2017.  He is the devoted father of Olivia Sherwood and Kimberly Buzzeo both of Maine and Jamie Scalzo of Halfmoon, with whom he resided.  Brother of Donna (Kenny) Penk and Kathy Sherwood and the late twin brother Richard “Dick” Sherwood and Renee Sherwood; cherished grandfather of Cole, Kennedy, Joan, Heidi Ann and Dominic; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

     Graveside services will be held on Monday July 8, 2019 at 1:30 pm in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville with full military honors where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Joan.
