All of the Ryans were a big part of my life. First Helen, a dear, dear friend from St. Augustine's. If you knew one Ryan, you knew them all. The door was always open at 19 New turnpike. Thru Helen, I started working at Ed Ryan & Sons when just a teen-ager. Worked closely with Ed when he came back to the Agency to work with his Dad, worked with Pat, Dave, Fred, lived in Cathy's house on Northern Drive. Lots of happy, happy memories.
They are all wonderful people. Sorry to read of Ed's passing. He was a good, kind, fun guy.

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Ryan. He figured huge in my childhood, as we neighborhood kids enjoyed countless hours playing at the Ryan's. Ryno (Mike), Beaver (Ed), Maureen, Patty, and Katie, my heartfelt condolences to you all. Alice, as the big sister (in both meanings), you were who we looked up to. You showed me that a nun is a person first, and that made a lasting impression. you rocked that swimsuit at the sister's camp (Mercy Villa) at Crooked Lake. Ryno, your dad did indeed hang the nickname "Barney" on my brother James, and it sticks to him to this day. Memories of our childhood will forever include the Ryan's - the house, the road trips in the family boulevard barge Ford Squire station wagon, to Sunday mornings watching Howard Tupper's TV Tournament Time on Channel 6 with Mrs. Ryan. Mr. Ryan, thank you for making our childhood a great time. To the family, thanks for sharing your dad with us neighborhood kids.
