God bless you all during this difficult time. My deepest condolences to your family as you hold onto your precious memories of your beloved! I want to share that I met Patty when I sat on the State Rehabilitation Council for the Blind and Visually Handicapped and be it only once that I had that encounter, I often thought of her and her kindness and the lessons she taught me as I asked questions of her and she graciously shared her wisdom. Many blessings now and forever.
Judah,My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Your mother was such an amazing person. She was a mentor, a friend, an encouragement to so many in a time of need. May her hope and trust in Christ be of great comfort to you, as it has been to so many others she had contact with. She loved you and her grandsons so very much, her face beamed of joy every time she spoke of you all.May God's peace that surpasses all understanding rule and reign in your heart during this time.

I met Patty on the prescipice of death just after her son Joshua went to be with the Lord. She has had a profound influence upon my life ever since...her loving heart, her depth of soul, her wisdom and understanding, her faithfulness to her Creator even in the severest of pain... she trusted Him. I thought I would help her through those early days and even years of grief by praying for her and being there with her but in reality, she helped me. Through the years to come,
my own children had a chance to go to the same school with her children. We were all family... so when Micah passed we were devastated... especially Natalie Jeanne who was closest in age. Little did we know that not long from that time she would also be with him. In my worst grief, back in the days of answering machines... when I wasn’t listening to anyone, she left a cryptic message... “ it gets better” three words that I will always remember. She had the authority to speak into my life when I would hear nothing else. Truly a gift.
I remember how she would minister at a woman’s event... how she told a story and brought you there in the places of her own heart. She would laugh and cry at the same time and so would we. We would come away purged, cleansed and clothed from our own nakedness.
That was Patty, and in the very gentleness of spirit.
We moved away and I spoke to her less often. When we did speak, it was as if we picked up the conversation where we had just left off. She always had a way of bringing one down to earth and yet heaven was there. That was Patty.
Now where she walks we cannot in our earthly minds know...
but we can imagine the beauty that her seeing eyes behold, the love’s lost longing now tied together with her children who were never far from her thoughts and always in her heart.
She is there. I can imagine the resounding well done... you my faithful servant. Enter thou into the joy of the Lord. And how great that joy must be.
Yet I know her presence will go with those left here on the earth. Her prayers for those are now sealed in the eternities and her care for her family will still go on.
Bless you Patty for all you have been to all of us. We will miss your sweet self but are reminded once again by your going that this is not our home. We are only passing through. We will have sweetness and serenity. We will laugh again. We will be reminded of the brevity of life and live it well while we are here as you did.
Now we love you forever!
